Woodhorn Newsagents sells a wide range of newspapers, magazines and stationery, as well as confectionery, greetings cards, toys, soft drinks, phone cards and cigarettes. There are also photocopying and fax facilities on the premises.

It is possible to order toys from the Toy Team 2000 catalogue.
Ali has been running the business for 10 years and has a regular clientele. He serves mainly the Colliery Estate and Woodhorn end of the village.

Particular note should be made of the opening hours:

5.30am - 8.00pm every day of the week, every day of the year, including Bank Holidays. Ali claims to have the longest hours of opening of any shop in Newbiggin!
