Newbiggin
Life project managers and representatives from Newbiggin
Community Action Partnership deliver a presentation to community
leaders to explain the details of the plans to revitalise
the village.
Project
Director John Johnston explained that the public launch was
"the start of the village-wide consultation process"
that would begin with several key 'trigger projects', including
64 new homes on the sites currently occupied by the Poultry
Farm and disused scrap yard at Woodhorn - now to be known
as Woodhorn Farm. Newbiggin
Community Action Partnership Chairman Mike Goodman said
it was "the start of a new era...it looks like a very
rosy future for Newbiggin". The project will now move
'beyond the planning stage' and put some of the ideas generated
over the past months and years into practice, with continued
public consultation.

The information
details proposals for a new Gateway entrance to the village,
improvements to other entrances to the village, and the first
new-build housing for almost 20 years.
