NEWBIGGIN BY THE SEA SALVATION ARMY

Our community programme for 2013 will take place in our Community Hall in Vernon Place, including a number of new activities taking place, as follows:

Monday 12.30pm Lunch Club

Monday 7.30pm Ladies Fellowship (1^st & 3^rd Monday of the month)

Tuesday  9.30-11.30am NEW Parent & Toddlers Group

Every child loves to play and we offer a safe and friendly environment for toddlers to come along and play, enjoy crafts and share in music.  Its also a good opportunity for parents & carers to join in the fun too.  Every session includes tea / coffee and toast for adults and water / juice, toast and fruit for toddlers.

Wednesday   11.00am NEW Armchair Keep Fit (by Age UK Northumberland)

We are delighted to be working with Age UK Northumberland in offering Armchair Keep Fit classes.  A gentle way to keep fit, make friends and also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee!

Wednesday 2.30pm Craft Club (2nd & 4th in month)

Thursday 9.30-11.30am  NEW Coffee Morning with Prayer Corner                                     

Coffee / Tea / Hot Chocolate is available along with a selection of warm scones.   An area of the Community Hall will be designated as a  prayer corner where, if you would like to, you can share any concerns and as a Christian Church we promise to pray for you.                            

Friday 5.30-7.30pm NEW Movie Night for 5-11yr olds (monthly starting 11^th January) 

On the second Friday of the month we will be showing a movie for children aged 5-11years.  There will be hot dogs and a tuck shop.  Parents & Carers are welcome to stay but if not they will need to sign a consent form.

Sunday worship takes place every week at 10.30am in our Worship Hall on Front Street.   Our Sunday afternoon will take the following format commencing at 4.00pm:

1st Sunday             Cafe Church
2nd Sunday            Messy Church
3rd Sunday             Songs of Praise
4th Sunday             Service held in local Nursing Homes
5th Sunday             Joint service with Newbiggin by the Sea Churches Together

Silver Ashington
Daytime singing for people over 50. Tuesdays, 1.15 - 2.45pm. At the Round House, Lintonville Parkway, Ashington, NE63 9JZ. £2.50 per session. The group is organised by 20000 Voices, together with the Sage, Gateshead and Age Concern Northumberland. Come along and join us for an afternoon of singing for fun . Newbiggin by the Sea Ramblers
A club dedicated to walking in Northumberland and Durham
Walks are organised on a rotating system and are at two weeks plus one day intervals and seven to nine miles long. Business meetings are held on the first Monday of each month (unless that Monday is a holiday) in the Bank House Social Club at 11am.

The C1 Cycle Route runs through the District joining up with local paths. Leaflets containing more information on the local pathways are available from local outlets during the summer.
